Didn't see this in the archives, so I would like to request some Intel on it. My theory is that kabir is xur. Long story short, kabir lost his light in the vault, and wandered Venus shrouded in darkness. He was found by the nine and given a new purpose. I don't know much lore and don't read cards, so can you give us (me) some Intel?

Even if his body did survive the creation of the Aegis, I can't imagine a mindless husk being able to make it out of the VoG.

Xur is an amalgamation of dead cells that rise as the nine commands. It could be kabr, but it's also several dozen other dead people from ages and ages ago.

Kabr gave his light, the body of a Gorgon, and what was left of his ghost to create the Aegis. Because of it being part Gorgon (but also infused with Light), it cannot be erased from existence and subsequently can be an anchor to the real world. Kabr is dead.
