Fire Warrior. It happened within the General Quarters of the bloodwrath, in a dark alleyway. Red Lightning arced unto buildings and streets, all emanating from a single point. An alleyway, between a warehouse and a parking lot. A ball of red Lightning formed over the pavement, burning cleanly through anything it touched. At the center of it, a shape began to form. It was quite large... about twice the size of a space marine. It was kneeling, by the looks of it, from within the sphere. In a final blast, a wave of red energy flew across the city block, momentarily shutting down electronic devices. Little remnants of red lightning arced from his body. His armour was painted in pitch black and glossy red. Over his left arm was a dark and foggy cloak. The fire warrior shook his head, looking up. "Wh... Where in the universe am I..?" He slowly began to stand up. As he moved, red gauss energy, liberated gauss energy, floated across his joints. He was no longer a man of flesh. He was a being of metal, but of familiar metal. He had died. He had been made a slave. And briefly, he had touched the darkness. But now, he had returned. The liberated commander had been freed. His mind had returned to him, in major parts. He was still bonded with the ultimate being of Death, the Nightbringer. But he was like a parasite to the god. He had harnessed his powers for his own use. He had cheated death. The Grieving Commander stood proudly, encased in the mighty armour of the Tau. "I... Am Aun Kor'El... Shas'o'Kais of the Terr'an Sept... Liberated Commander..." He spoke these words like some sort of prayer, a reminder to himself that his life was his own once more. That he was in control, not the machines. He stood proud, yet somewhat humble. His stance was not that of a machine. His movements were not mechanic. They were fluid, broken, random, instinctual. He moved in a human manner. In a living manner. In the manner a scared yet fearsome soldier would move. He knew he had alerted a part of the General Quarters, if not all of them. But that mattered little to him. He could see the pained souls roaming the ship, encased in their metal prisons. The enslaved Necrons. He felt their pain, their suffering. He heard their pleas for mercy. He would answer them. He was a man of three worlds. He was Born as Tau, the fire warrior. He lived on Terr'a, with the humans. And he payed his sins with the Necrontyr, slaves of their own hatred. With the Red Gauss flowing through him, dancing along with the blue power of Tau craft, The Insurgent Commander lived once more.
open. You saw that red Lightning.
• "I suppose so. Let's see... I was born a part of the Tau Fal'Shia Sept. From birth, I was destined to become a commander of the Tau fire caste of our Sept. In my species, choice isn't ours. We are assigned a destiny that will serve the greater good."

  • "I was raised, indoctrinated, to become the fiercest warrior in our Sept. I excelled at leadership, but something unique came of me. On one of my missions, I had found a book, from earth. I had to learn english to understand it, it was an old book. With the help of the Infiltration units, they taught me the language of the enemy. It was titled 'Mark Twain's fables of Man.' From it, I learned a great deal about something that was strange to me. Freedom. I learned that A man chooses, and a Slave Obeys. That the right to choose, the right to question ourselves was the basis for a life of plentitude. I kept learning as much as I could from wherever I could about this freedom. It interested me a great deal."

  • "Eventually, after many successful campaigns, came the disaster. It was the Kaurava system conquest. We... lost that war. We were driven from the system in defeat. Upon my return home, I had found something dire. My mother, father and sister had been killed by the Ethereals. I barely had time to flee. I stayed on board my capital ship, grabbed as much loyal troops and equipment as I could and fled."

  • "We escaped the Tau Empire. We moved from planet to planet, sector to sector. All the way until we reached Terra. At first, they were reluctant to have us there, seeing as we are aliens. But soon enough we proved ourselves in the eyes of the Imperium. We were allowed the construction of a base on the moon. We had ridden ourselves of the empire. We had become the Terr'an Sept. We would defend our new home against whatever would come. That is when my first daughter was born. Mir'ika."

  • Well... Seems like you've had an interesting backstory, I don't think I've lived on a moon before, I mean, a very hellish place, yes, but...

  • "all was going well. Eventually, my Tau lover was killed in action. My daughter was still so very young. We Tau age at a slower rate than humans. Erm... something very complicated then happened. I would prefer not to go too much into details about it, but I fell in love with a human woman. We had a child together. We named her after her human grandmother, Amy."

  • Oh, just a brief description of you, your backstory, etc. I've been trying to find out a pattern with many people here, it seems like a lot of people here have or had a major importance, and almost all here have lost their memory on how they got here. I mean, I know how I got here, a problem with a portal, but it seems like something, or someone, is tampering with these people's memories.

  • "I see. Anyway, where was I? Oh, I remember. Yes, I had my daughter, Amy. Because the human I had married was... different, she had strange abilities, even as a baby. All was going well for me. Until the Harbinger invaded Terra. A mad warlord that believed he was the balance in the universe. Skirmishes raged, and we fought. Until I battled him man to man, to buy time for my allies. He... killed me. I activated my suit's overload while I held him in a chokehold. I was damaged beyond repair. This was my final action against him. Then... I died."

  • "But it wasn't. Shortly afterwards, I was revived by Necrons. They had observed my tactical prowess. They made me into one of their Pariahs. I had become the Supreme leader for a Terran Invasion force. And once again, I was made a slave. I was indoctrinated, my soul wasn't my own anymore. I was commanded by gods that were not my own, and I swallowed every lie with unshakable zeal. I was fueled by such hatred... our invasion began on the moon. I killed my former comrades. Those that weren't dead were converted to soldiers. I killed my former comrades... my former friends... and there was nothing I could do but watch. I converted my wife. She couldn't bear to be different from me. Together, we had another child. Born from love out of hatred. Our souls combined into one. My third daughter was born. Habbihia. The Necrontyr word for 'Loved'."

  • "The war raged on. Eventually, my plan nearly came to succeed. I was to become the next vessel for the Nightbringer. But w My resolve was too strong. "You might be surprised. It can do many things. I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't defeat it while it is active." Suddenly, Kor'El's body turned into a mass of shadows as he moved into the suit. It began glowing with gauss energy, suddenly activating.
