The original Starcraft and the expansion Brood War released in 1998. The expansion only added more units and upgrades, even upgraded all the old stuff. It was 12 years until Starcraft 2 came out. 12 YEARS! And even then the old units are still there with shiny new coats of paint, some new abilities, some needed improvements.
