The drunk German/Austrian physics of the early 20th century never fail to amaze me. Pictured above (color is photoshopped) are the brains behind the modern world as we have it today. Absolutely astonishing what these people accomplished for science. 19 of them received Nobel Prizes. I wish people like Emmy Noether, Annie Jump Cannon, and Cecilia Payne could have made it in the photo. STEM fields have a serious lack of females in them, and so it may surprise someone to learn that the foundation for modern astrophysics was actually built by female scientists.
