Not really.... What i got from the game only was; humans went to earth and discovered a powerful alien artifact (or maybe sentient being? Idk.) They called it the traveler (or it told them that was its name.) it traveled to earth (for no reason) and blessed humanity with a golden age (how? ¯\(°_o)/¯ with light i guess.) but then the darkness followed it (which we still font really know what the darkness is) and there was a war (with i guess the hive.) As a result of this war, the "war minds" where created. I dont recall the game talking is the significance of the war mind, just that we needed to keep it on our side. Then, bla bla bla vex bla bla bla awoken bla bla bla you kill some kind of dark energy. And the dlc's just add more confusing conflict. Also, why cant we just give the darkness the traveler? what bad will happen? seems like the traveler is the problem to me. Then i have questions like What is the origen story of all these aliens and the exo? What is society like for humans, exo, awoken, fallen, caball? Why does my character not care about being recently deceased? WTF is light and dark really? What happened to the animals? Why is there no military force other than guardians, there not even an air force?!?! What are ghosts? What is the political situation? The list goes on and on and on. My biggest question tho is; why do i care about protecting the city? Ive only ever been in the tower, i have no idea who im protecting in the city or why i care. The world of destiny is very un-immersive.
