When I first read this card, I thought the exact same thing. But when the second Rezyl card was added in April, I second guessed that and now don't believe it. My main reason for no longer believing it is that Rezyl has a ghost, the speaker does not. Also, in the second card, rezyl is still out in the wild after the city has started. The speaker grimoire says there has always been a speaker. So I would have thought that if Rezyl was the speaker, he would have been there when the city started, but he wasn't. Last, the physical description of Rezyl doesn't match that of the speaker (physical size). I now think that Rezyl is likely the first titan.

The Speaker does have a ghost. If you go to the Tower he has a ghost.

You are correct. I had to go check but I never noticed.

Rezyl was considered a god. But he served another god, the Traveler. So would it make sense that he is the Speaker?
-
Maybe... He could commune with the Great Machine if he was God-status
-
The Traveler probably thought "Oh damn everyone thinks this guy is a god but I am his god." In order to give people more hope, the Traveler communed with Rezyl to create the Speaker, who is also Rezyl.

Definitely makes sense
