Running low on Glimmer?

Since the April update came out I've had new weapons and armor dropping left, right and center (which is GREAT). The only problem is that now I'm struggling to maintain a good amount of Glimmer... I do the Raid at least twice a week and same goes for Trials and CoE. I feel like after completing that many endgame activities I should have earned at least 10000 Glimmer. After two weeks of end game activities, I should be able to max my glimmer if I don't spend any of it. I struggle to get past 4000 glimmer these days and those black wax idol (and all things alike) things aren't noticeable enough for me to make sure I use one each time I play. Every time I get get close to 4000 a new weapon will drop that I want to try and just from that, I'll be back to less than 500. I think the economy is partially to blame... Pretty much whenever I want to upgrade a weapon I'll have to go and buy weapon parts as well. By the time I've bought the weapon parts I needed I'll find that I now don't have enough glimmer to upgrade the weapon, not to mention infusing it with more weapon parts and Glimmer. I dismantled a bunch of exotics earlier today, a few legendaries and a lot of rares from other characters just to get some glimmer. I still ended up with just over 4000. Shouldn't exotics give you a bit more? Upgraded exotics give like 250 which I think is nowhere near enough. I appreciate that glimmer has more use now, but am sort of fed up with it because of the slow rate it gets earned. Maybe I'm the only one who has these problems, who knows. Is anyone else experiencing the same issues?

  • do patrols, kill everything you see (Venus and Drednaught) for about an hour...I max out glimmer then sell it to Variks for heavy ammo until I am left with 15,000 them max out again in about an hour give or take...kill everything especially high value targets...glimmer is never a problem.

play through weekly and poe lv 41 with a warlock, alchemists rainment and an appropriate ghost for what ever enemy you fight in each lobby. variks announces it in poe. so i tend to be in selection picking when he does. then play. you will get glimmer via the chest piece, ghost and general rewards for beating majors. then when you go to the tower you cash in all your engrams and then dismantle anything you dont need and again get glimmer. on top of this poe gets you coins and motes and weekly gets you possible high end loot drops and legendary drops for legendary marks. you dont need to spend hours in any of them. maybe just 3 times a week just run them and before you notice it you go from like 5k to like 15k. or play some crucible with a crucible ghost on. worst case scenario get a cabal ghost (assuming you have one cos I havent ever dropped on) and go to exclusion zone on hard, pop a supply code and then run past the first mobs, kill as many of the yello bars as possible, run back to the normal mobs and let them kill you. repeat that over and over and keep popping supply codes. its boring as hell and only gets you glimmer but it still gets you glimmer. ^ they are the best ways I use to get there. hope some of them help ya.

  • Dude, glimmer should be the least of your worries... There's so many buffs to help you obtain it... What they need to do is sell armor materials... Ever since this smart loot came about, infusing armor is draining my materials faster then i can replace them... Weapons aren't a problem due to the fact that the gunsmith sells weapon parts, but we desperately need a service that offers armor materials for a fee..
