April Update Meta - Machine Gun Primary Weapons, Hardscopers, Slide Shotgunners & Skill Gap Compression

What weapons do you get killed by the most in PVP right now in competitive PvP game modes such as Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris Post April Update? Since the introduction of "Machine Gun Primaries" such as Doctrine of Pssing Grasp of Malock the crucible has been really noob friendly. These types of weapons are by far the most used primaries in comeptitive game modes such as Iron Banner and Trials of osiris because they are so easy to use and so quick to kill leading me to believe Bungie is deliberately compression the skill gap in pvp. also the sniper rifles nerf did not affect the noob snipers ( we all know that guy who sits at the back of the map head glitching hardscoping never leaving his camping spot) but affected the skilled snipers who were confident to go out in the open and fight at medium range. Now since the nerf to snipers shotgunners are running rampand and we are almost abck to year one where the vast majority of shotgunners don't even bother to use their primary weapons. They rush you tanking your primary shots then slide and shotgun. Additionally in trials sunsingers are still the meta. The moment you pass 6-7 wins in Trials of Osiris all you see are teams with 2 or 3 sunsingers. All these have lead me to believe that bungie is slowly compressing the skill gap by making skilled players adapt while consistently making it easy for noobs to have access to high rate of fire max stability weapons. This needs to change and weapons such as doctrine need to require the user to use that max stability to actually get headshots to win gun fights because you can spray someone on the body amd still kill them faster than him using a hand cannon for example and getting all 3 headshots.

  • BUMP! Although the PVP is balanced in terms of weapons, there are too many noob friendly things that are really good. Things like ProcMoon winning gun fights due to lucky bullets, or doctrine mapping you instantly. This game needs to be taken back to a more skilled environment. Similar to How in terms of balance, but not thorn or TLW meta. AR's should not be good weapons in PVP period, as they don't require any amount of practice or a lot of skill/time to learn the gun. Things like doctrine don't require you to learn range drop off, stability, or disengaging, as you can just spray and prey with no penalty. Compared to a jade rabbit scout or messenger type archetype where missing penalizes you VERY heavily. And gun fights between guns like those are determined by landing head shots, not luck.
