I'm very confused why spiderman and black panther is in this movie. I get they're in the civil war comics but why has neither them have their own movie yet like the rest of them? Why didn't spiderman help with the final battle of the first avenger movie?

Doesn't seem necessary... there've been so msny spiderman movies put out. And the newer spiderman show ultimate(?) Ties in with shield/avengers and all. I know not everyone will have watched the show. But Spiderman being there doesn't seem as surprising as Deadpool and some X-men reps not being there, to me anyways lol.

It's because X-men and Deadpool are owned by Fox, not Marvel..
-
Right, people talked about school showing doomsday.. And marvel shows unnecessary Spider-Man just because they want to reboot the characters. You know why it's ok when marvel does this? Because it's owned by Disney and they pretty much own everything

Because the Marvel Cinematic Universe has now grown to a point where we no longer necessarily need an origin story for our superheroes (just look at Guardians of the Galaxy). Superheroes just exist in that world. Also, is there anyone left who doesn't know how Spiderman got his powers?
-
True. But i still think it's weird to have character in this movie that had no reference to in past movies.

And Age of Ultron showed with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch that these things aren't just limited to America. The Avengers are also widely enough know that they would act as a beacon to other superheroes. It makes sense narratively, and offers the opportunity for Marvel to maybe mix up the template of its movies a little.

Spiderman is being played by a new actor (Tom Holland) and his new movie will be coming out in 2017, it may (or may not) be set BEFORE Civil War.

If it's set before civil war than that's fine.
