• Prince made himself (to an extent) a symbol of sexual openness and expression. Sexualizing someone is okay if the context in which you are doing so was intended to be sexual. This scene was clearly intended to be sexual, he's clearly trying to be sexy, so it's okay and appropriate to sexualize him in this context.

 • Anomaly, I admit, I'm rude to you because it's funny, not because I dislike you, but how the hell did you not see that this is satire?

 • Then why isn't it ok to sexualize women in video games? The voice actors obviously are ok with it. You have no logical reason to not be ok with it. Furthermore, if I comment on Scarlett Johansen's breasts on Tumblr, I'd be ripped apart by tumblrinas claiming misogyny.

 • First of all, most of the time when women are sexualized in video games the game itself doesn't have sexual context. The woman running around fighting a war in a bronze bikini? Yeah, inappropriate. There's zero sexual context there and a skimpy suit of armor is ridiculous to go into battle with. And yeah, they probably would, because breasts aren't inherently sexual. Unless a woman is in front of you with her breasts in your face, purposely trying to turn you on, keep your comments about her breasts to yourself.
inappropriate
You know most of these games are rated M for a reason right? I guess feminists aren't mature enough to recognize this nor value a character for their personality. Plus, you know it's fiction... right?

Yeah, inappropriate. Neither of which is "most of the time".
And yeah, they probably would, because breasts aren't inherently sexual. Unless Prince is specifically in your face, flashing his stuff and trying to get you to get turned on, it's wrong according to your logic to comment on it like you did in this thread. It doesn't matter that he was in a movie acting suggestively. After all, it isn't like Scarlet over here hasn't done a movie full nude while trying to seduce men or anything... Oh wait....

 • If you're watching a scene from a movie where she's being sexual, fine. Outside of that context, not fine. It's not a difficult concept.

 • So because I've seen her breasts, unless I'm still watching the clip in the movie it isn't ok to comment on them. Makes total sense.

 • Alright so in all seriousness, in this context it would be okay to sexualize a Victoria's Secret model because you go in knowing the whole point is being sexual? Im I right or am I missing something?

 • Sort of, though the argument could also be made that VS uses sexualization of women as a marketing strategy, which contributes to the overall culture of over-sexualization of women as a society. Prince was just one guy expressing himself. It's apples to oranges, really.

 • So if some girl in NYC pulls her top off (which is legal in Ny if not for commercial use), then is it fine to "oogle" (idk) because that was the whole point of doing so in the first place?

 • Um, no. Breasts are not sex organs, they are not inherently sexual. Women should be able to walk around topless without being objectified and sexualized, just like men already can. Breasts are sacks of fat for feeding babies.

 • But it's not okay when attractive women both in real life and fiction) want to display their tits for attention and personal empowerment? Because then I guess it's mysoginy somehow.

 • No they shouldn't be allowed their tops off. Everyone should keep their tops on. Noone wants to see your saggy titties.
