I would just like to point out a few things: A) the Sword Logic isn't about destroying everything to become powerful. It's about trying to destroy everything to test it. If it can be destroyed, it is not perfect, and deserves to be destroyed. The Hive are actually okay with being destroyed because of this logic. They recognize that they made a mistake or were not strong enough, and that they deserved to die. B) just because the sword text uses the word pinnacle, it does not mean it has an end. Just as you pointed out, the more the worms are fed, the more they demand. Technically, every moment is a pinnacle for the Hive as they constantly have to do better and better.
