Mirrors Edge: Catalyst. Thoughts and opinions.

As an avid fan of the first Mirrors edge, I am a little dissapointed in some of the choices EA and Dice have made. I thought that they couldn't possible screw up the cannon but it turns out that I was wrong. Let's start off with one of the best parts of mirrors edge, the parkour. It looks to be very smooth and some of the new traversal methods will definantly add to the gameplay. I like how they've modernized it and can't wait to see how it unfolds in the final product. Now for the other parts of gameplay I'm not so sure about. I definantly don't like the new runners vision. I think it holds your hand too much for the skill cap of this game. I will be looking for a runners vision toggle switch. The new characters of Noah and Icarus are unwelcome in my eyes. I don't like Noah for two reasons. He isn't Mercury and he is basically just Nathan drake. I HATE Icarus because he is a annoying dick. I absolutely love the soundtrack. It's the perfect mix of mirrors edge and electric pop. And really fits the atmosphere. Thus is what I think about Mirrors Edge: Catalyst in its current state. I will make another thread pertaining to the story later this week. Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.

  • Runners vision will be automatically shut off during missions or encounters, it's just for getting across the open world

    • Yes, I agree about the runner vision - annoying. But I'm sure there'll be an OFF option. Problem is, if this sequel will be more of an open world and not linear like the previous game, then some kind of directional guidance would be a necessity or you'd have no way of knowing where you're to go during a mission - it'd be aimless, frustrating trial and error
