Malok vs Alak-hul

Malok and Alak-hul. Both seeked to take the throne of the Hive. Both felled by our hand. Because of their relation I feel compelled to compare them, and Malok doesn't seem anywhere near as powerful or threatening as Alak-hul. Malok has more magic on his side rather than just having a big axe, but he doesn't really feel as dangerous as Alak-hul. Maybe it's just the setting. Malok hides behind his adds most of the time and you can also hide from him easily. Alak-hul on the other hand can just appear behind you at any time and stomp your head in. What do you think about it? It's a lot more reasonable of a comparison than asking if Atheon can give Crota a wedgie.

  • To be honest, I don't think Malok compares to Alak-Hul - while both are bullet sponges, the latter is much more dangerous in the final phase since he chases you, whilst Malok always hangs back and uses darkness webs. I wouldn't mind seeing more Malok, however, given he was part-Taken and he could return as an infection rather than the echoes that Oryx dispatched.

  • Actually, Alak-Hul can only "teleport" when standing in those weird puddles of black water. If you noticed, when Hive come up from the ground, there's always a puddle of that substance where it happens. It's a method of transportation. If you take that away, Alak-Hul loses that advantage. He is certainly more threatening but Malok is just more.....more. Oryx's horde (the Taken) actually responds to him and answers his calls. He looks like the guardians of the Shrines, the massive Hive Knight we fight in the Shrine of Oryx mission, but he's been Taken and granted a new Knife or two. My Glimmer is Malok.

      • Malok is definitely a lot harder to fight. The amount of adds, low cover, and burning floor is not good for my health. That being said, I only did the strike twice so far. #TitanMasterRace

        • I'm going with malok simply because I'd imagine his shadow touch would slow down alukhul that much more and probably prevent him from teleporting since we can't double jump. Idk about blinking in it cause I've never tried.

          • Alak-hul is just a knight who's a bit stronger by the sword logic (slewing legions of hive for his girlfriend... How do they breed anyway? Never mind I don't wanna know) He's capable in a one on one fight sure, I suppose. However malok has secrets given to him by Savathun and Oryx. And when he gained his new shape (became taken), oryx allowed him to keep some of his own will so he could then be capable of utilizing lesser taken in battle. Alak-hul would be alone, whilst malok could use strategics to his advantage and shadow touch him, so there would be no way for darkblade to charge him Malok wins

            • I believe Alak-hul would win, by rules of the sword logic he would lop off Malok's head and seize his knowledge of the blights.
