No, and for two reasons.
1. I don't have the year 1 version and I probably won't get the year 2 version any time soon.
2. Sidearms are still garbage in PvE.

Wow, ok. I am curious why you think they are garbage? I love them, though I thought the Vestian Dynasty was the best 1. I am enjoying my Havoc Pigeon in Y2 & I have found that the quick rof is nice when you are using a slower primary, plus they are very accurate once you get used to then. Anyways, that is why I like them. I am not putting you down for not liking them, just curious why you do not like them.

Because they can't even one-shot a goblin unless you're within melee distance. I know they're supposed to be a backup weapon, but that's a little ridiculous.

Neither can half the primaries though. To me, that is the point they are trying to make. High rof, low damage. Use the sidearm for high rof when using a slow rof primary. I use it as a back up for when I use either a hand cannon or a scout rifle. Now, the map & the adds or players can change if I use it or not, but that is in all weapons.
