Black holes do not collapse, they evaporate. While this causes the information paradox, this does not mean all of our physics is wrong. There's obviously quantum mechanics at play, and so violation of classical mechanics is okay if the loss of information can then be resolved quantum mechanically. This is an ongoing investigation in theoretical physics. A quantum gravity, or rather relativistic physics explained from a quantum standpoint, could resolve the issue without any physical inconsistencies.
