What is your standpoint on the theoretical Alcubierre effect?

  • I think it's the right direction for theoretical physics. It's just very far out of human reach, and so if we can refine its efficiency in terms of how much exotic matter is needed, I think we'll have a better chance of it becoming a reality. Not in our lifetimes though, absolutely not. However what the drive posits is exactly what we need if we are to conduct interstellar travel, the only issue is that we wouldn't be able to communicate over those distances, as information cannot travel faster than the speed of light.

  • If you haven't already, you should check out this game called "Elite Dangerous" It is basically a space simulation of the milky way set in the future in theoretical "Human Occupied" space. You are a pilot trying to strike it rich and become famous in a cutthroat galaxy.
