Another rant about nothing. Balance, meta, OP weapons, no skill, blah blah blah. If anything is stale, it's this constant crying. You want to know what the real deal is here? Luke Smith wants this meta shit. The highlight of this interview is "And we want to make sure that every weapon archetype sort of has its age." Read it. Deal with it. Get over it. "We've updated Destiny since the game shipped 30+ times to players. We've pushed more patches than we've ever pushed to players before. We're always looking at the weapons. We're looking at usage. We're seeing what people are using too much. What they're not using enough. And we want to continue to change the scales on how things are. Things are coming in and out of fashion. Autorifles were really in fashion when the game shipped and now they're not being used very widely. We want to continue to tilt the scales. The rise of the exotic hand cannon, we're aware of it too. And we want to make sure that every weapon archetype sort of has its age." Addressing the Hawkmoon and the Thorn more specifically Smith had this to say: "Our weapons would flow. This design flow like the last word is fun to use. It's a fan fire weapon with beautiful animations. It might just kill you a little bit too fast right now. And so when we look at messing with the weapons or when we look at tuning we don't want to tune out the flow. We want to retain the flow, the thing that makes the gun fun. We just make sure it's not overpowering, it's not dominating your decision making."
