Sorry m8, but most of this community would disagree with you. HoW was one of the worst eras in Destiny. There was no gear I wanted and that made everything feel empty.
And this game has MMO mechanics like old gear being left behind.

HoW was the best era because there was so much end game content. Both raids were relevant because you wanted elemental burn weapons for POE. Trials was fresh and it also had elemental primary rewards. POE was worth playing because it dropped etheric light. IB also had good rewards and etheric light. It basically took TDB and added a ton of content to it. Nightfall also dropped good rewards and xp boost. TTK released a raid and made the other 2 obsolete. It made POE obsolete. It made all your weapons/gear obsolete. Court of Oryx which was hyped beyond belief was a total flop. The dreadnaught was also mega hyped and it's a total flop. Nightfall was made irrelevant. How released great new pop content with trials ... tsk added rift which is a flop. One of the only major positives from TTK was the new subclasses.

For hardcore players VoG and CE were useless by the time PoE dropped. I already had all the weapons. That meant that after 1 month of grinding etheric lights, I had nothing to do. A DLC should not be about getting an upgrade item to your old items, it should be about finding and earning new gear.

What's wrong with upgrading old items and adding new gear? I feel it would been really cool to be able to update Y1 weapons/gear to be relevant with Y2 stuff. Certainly this could only add to the greatness of the game. Absolutely nothing would be lost by allowing the continual upgrade of some of our favorite old gear while at the same time adding to the arsenal some new and fresh weapons/armor. Just my thoughts.

Not a good thing. If we brought back Year 1 items, no one would use Year 2 guns. After that, adding new guns would be useless, as everyone would only use the three guns that are the best in the game. "Well lets just make new guns stronger, duh!" You say, and my response is short "Power Creep" I really don't want to use only 3 guns for the next 8 years. If you are still asking yourself the same questions, please go watch some videos from Datto and PlanetDestiny, they both have multiple videos on power creep, item restarts and content cycles.

So you're saying TTK was better because it gave you 1 Raid with terrible drops to repeat endlessly to close the gap from 315-- 320?

PoE gave me nothing to reach for. KF>PoE TTK story and quest>PoE story TTK weapons>PoE weapons You can not argue for PoE being better than KF, that is just insane.

Many players at that time were still doing all bits of content. Try finding people for anything other then KF now ... Only big negatives from HoW were the POE weapon rewards (the chest drops were ok) and the super broken hand cannons. TTK big negatives are that they didn't progress forward .. they just restarted. A new player could easily be on Par with you (aside from grimoire,) pretty much at release.

HoW did not have two raids. I am sorry for saying this, but if you still needed weapons from VoG and CE, you were really bad at this game. Only thing that HoW had to give was Etheric light, and that was maxed out in a month.

I think it would be very difficult to know what most of the community thinks. You might not have enjoyed HoW but every single player I met did. But hey, agree to disagree.
