Thomas Edison was a douche. Did you make the audio or just the video?

  • Both. I got the speech from a variety of video sources, re-arranged them together with the sound track.

  • Well why did it take so long to make the video?

  • Because this video you are seeing here is actually the product of a 4th re-attempt. Each attempt was different speakers, different music, different clips but it just wasn't to my standard and kept re-changing everything. Then there was the several documentaries, speeches I had to watch entirely which were ranging from 2 hours long on a few of them. All of this added to the editing time.

Okay. So how much time did you spend, exclusively, editing this video? Not the 4 that didn't make the cut, and not watching documentaries. Edit: Used a period instead of a question mark.

In the ranges of 9 to 11 hours. I had re-size each clip to full screen since, majority was in cinema boarders and my mistake of not doing it before I separated them from each other. Followed by editing the gains/db of the speech since some were really high in volume and some were just down right quiet, I wanted the pitch to be comparable as if it was just one entire speech being done. Then spacing of the speech, not to far off from one another so it isn't silent at some parts or just a sudden speech after another. And finding a way to extend the actual song it self, unoticeably since I cut a chunk of what I felt was more of a filler and extending the parts I liked the most from it. Then dabbing on all the mistakes in the process and polishing it up completely by matching the clips to the audio's beat (repeatedly listening to make sure the frame is in the right position of a particular part of the audio) and re-adjusting the velocity per clip. Everything above is what I did with the other versions as well.
