That makes no sense at all... Why would you get taken versions of CE and VOG gear in prison of elders???

They are actually a gift from the Reef for those who conquered the Darkness. Raid weapons and armor are mere trophies and are equivalent to killing a bear in the woods and placing its head over your mantle piece .
