Racism and sexism still exist within the LGBT community. It's sad, but there's a lot of infighting. And those with more privilege (like older, wealthier, white gay men) than others (trans women of color, for example) tend to get their needs prioritized over everyone else's. It's similar to white feminism, the 20th Century brand of feminism that prioritized the rights of white women over the rights of any other women.
