Why Are Broman & Gothalian So Popular?
I don't see why they're bigger than streamers who are actually good at the game like mtashed, Wish You Luck, tripleWRECK, Giggle Monstar, Gamesager, Realkraftyy or WaRbulletpoof. Can someone explain this to me? Why would you watch a streamer even though they're not that strong of a player?

1 ReplyBecause streaming is entertainment. Gothalion doesnt have to be good at the game. Hes good at being a streamer and basically having a conversation with a tv screen for hours while keeping people engaged. Triple is boring. Krafty is boring. They are both better players per say, that is if you consider pvp destiny the only thing to judge them on lol. Broman is entertaining and does the same as well. Hes not really my cup of tea but he has a target demographic he appeals too. And they are both positive. They dont sit there and bitch and cry about the game. They just play. Everyone knows the game is stale right now, no need to keep repeating yourself and spreading the negativity. Just my 2 cents.

4 RepliesYou're talking about entertainers. People who are trying to make a living off of making people like them. Novel stuff is what entertains people; Dogs on skateboards, cats playing with birds. Having Adults behave like adolescents in a medium [i]aimed [/i]at adolescents is almost guaranteeing yourself views! It's just writing yourself a paycheck. Many of the other entertainers you listed, are just hardcore gamers. That's an incredibly small portion of the population, and it's aimed at an even smaller group. So of course you have less popularity and viewership.

3 RepliesI follow mostly small time streamers (5 to 20 viewers) that have fun with the chat and are beasts in pvp. There are a lot of great players that go unnoticed. When you find them its more worthwhile to spend time in their streams because you can actually talk and play/ learn with them. I don't know why ppl get into streams that have thousands of viewers.

Edited by Dooodley: 3/11/2016 6:36:49 PMWith Goth I think it's a combination of being in the right place at the right time, having somewhat of a following from Borderlands and being an active and all-roundish decent - albeit sometimes a bit dick'ish - dude. Broman is a mystery I can only speculate in. The guy is the worst player on the planet and frequently a total douche - usually as an outcome of him being too stupid to understand what people in his stream really mean, things are constantly flying over his head, and because he's so mentally weak that his defensive mechanisms instantly are kicking in. I'm worried that whatever "success" he has on twitch goes to his head and he tries the same crap with someone IRL. That could end poorly because there are a lot of people out there who wouldnt take it. As for why he's popular, I think it's because there are a lot of other people just like him out there, weak mentalities with rough childhoods (the latter is an assumption but I doubt that school was kind on Broman).

I like Goth, he's entertaining and funny. I don't like Broman, he doesn't seem like a bad guy, but i just don't dig it. I watch other guys that you listed. I think they're less popular cause they just play but don't interact as much with the viewers.

Because they are entertaining. This other streamers are entertaining for a competitive environment, not the day to day environment. Unfortunately there is no freedom to the competitive world of destiny (custom games). If there were a way for player to set up tournaments you would see larger numbers for those other streamers. Personally it's more like listening to the radio for me. I don't watch or listen to often, but when I do I can kind of follow along with what broman is doing just by listening. I'm completely lost when just listening to realkrafty. And that no fault of realkrafty, just the difference in streams.

1 ReplyThey're selling themselves. It's not always about the game skill. Sometimes it's about the personality. There are a lot of LP'ers that aren't especially good at the game they play but they're still entertaining. And every vid of Giggle's that I've seen ended with me wanting to rip out his throat. He and his clan might be really good at the game but ALL of their voices and stupid emo appearance turn me into a giant ball of a rage.

They maintain a level of energy and comedy which is very difficult for most streamers to maintain for long periods. Mtashed is life though.

There all really awesome gamers, Broman and Gothalion are more friendly and helpful to the community and you can relate more to them. It's not always about skill its also how they entertain for some people. I watch TruVanguard because u can relate to the guy and he's got skills.
