I think that the armor for bodies was done mainly because it allows you to spam body shots without worrying too much about going down.

Yeah, I just naturally aim for the head, and usually run high agility to begin with, so it kinda sucks to get basically nothing for a precision kill when that is it's exotic perk

Yea I feel it. I usually run it with a sniper but go for a full agility hunter so the armor helps quite a bit. Just the other day I survived a sniper to the body where I wasn't at full health so I've been using it exclusively
