No. Nor are they smarter if they have Asperger's Syndrome (as mentioned below). That they are atypically smart is a common misconception propagated by TV shows like the Big Bang Theory.

No. Their diversity of intelligence is no different from other people. They're just usually shunned from groups by shitty people and only have studies and reading to keep them company or they can be super focused on learning, more so than others. -
That's Aspergers, and they aren't smarter than the general population, they are just smarter in comparison to other types of autism, lol.
