Europa Lore: Planets

No single factor has influenced the tide of galactic history more than geography, whether it be physical, or merely the social layout of the land. Some planets have been more influential than others, but each are unique in their features, their histories, and the way they continually arbitrate the lives of entire civilizations.

Exalin Mythical Planet; Milky Way Diameter: 21,914 kilometres Length of day 31 hours Length of year 346 days (local) Gravity 3.17 G Atmosphere 2.3 (Methane, Hydrogen, Oxygen) Temperature: -73°C to 173°C (-164°F to 343°F) (Most of the planet is temperate, with a few extreme exceptions) History: Considered perhaps the most pivotal, yet mysterious moment in Coalition history, the brief excursion on Exalin had enormous consequences for all present factions. Possessed by a hive mind that controlled all of the planet's bizarre wildlife, Exalin was originally scouted before the Imperial Cold War, where its anomalous creatures and readings were sent back to Calypse. Centuries later, a joint Coalition task force was sent to the planet in order to survey specimens, and to reaffirm the unstable peace between the Dojo, Empire, Sovereignty, and other allied factions. What they couldn't possibly have known, is that another faction had interest in that planet, and in conquering the entire Milky Way using Exalin as their base. The Ignus, then the only member of the Sol Alliance, believed that the Mother Hive Mind was a splinter of Vulcan, their supreme God, and set to work eradicating the native infidels. When the Exalin team discovered them, conflict erupted, and Atlas came to interrupt the fight. What followed, is history. Notable Wildlife: - Boggart - Iter Mantis - Mytven - R'Tok - Gartzod - The Mother/Scythe

Calypse Imperial Capital/Homeworld; Milky Way Diameter: 14,263 kilometres Length of day 24.0 hours Length of year 365 days (local) Gravity 1.00 G Atmosphere 1 (Oxygen, Nitrogen) Temperature: -26°C to 42°C (-15°F to 108°F) History: Terraformed to be almost identical to humanity's mythical homeworld of Earth, Calypse served as the birthplace of the Empire. After the Emperor united the Coalition systems under his banner, he declared the then-inhospitable world of Calypse to be his capital, terraforming it as an example of how powerful, yet benign his fledgling Empire could be. As the Empire began to expand, Calypse became the center of government, and home to one of the largest civilian populaces in the Milky Way. When the Sol Alliance invaded, and the Empire began to crumble, all mentions of Calypse and its location were hidden, and the entire system was sealed off by an array of slipspace anomalies, where it became the home of the Imperial Military. Centuries later, when the Dread finally discovered this system, Calypse was destroyed by the titanic battle than ensued, marking the end of Imperial dominance over the Milky Way, leaving Helios as the last bastion of the Empire.

Chorus Prime Atlas Capitol Planet; I7-503g Diameter: 26,935 kilometers Length of day 43.9 hours Length of year 365 days (local) Gravity 5.17 G Atmosphere 1 (Oxygen, Nitrogen, Methane) Temperature: -41°C to 73°C (-105.8°F to 163°F) History: A world of extremes, Chorus Prime serves as the center of Atlas Government and Military. The nearest world to their homeworld of Solara, the expanding Atlas Ecumene terraformed this world hundreds of thousands of years before the Empire was born, designing it to be more comforting to the durable Choran race, while inhospitable for potential threats. While Solara turned into the heart of Atlas mining and engineering, Chorus Prime became the headquarters of their Interstellar Fleet, and later, their Fulcrum Division, as well as the home of the Grand Council. Over the millennia, Chorus Prime has become more and more industrial and massive, now expanding deep into the crust and into the exo-atmosphere in order to accommodate their incredibly massive fleet. Like all Choran words (besides the irreparably damaged Solara), it has absolutely no pollution, due to Atlas' clean technology.

Solara Atlas Origin World; I7-503g Diameter: 17,263 kilometres Length of day 23.9 hours Length of year 390 days (local) Gravity 1.08 G Atmosphere 1 (Oxygen, Nitrogen) Temperature: -26°C to 42°C (-15°F to 108°F) Description: Barren, desolate, and uniform, Solara was perhaps a paradise eons ago, but now her surface is largely a wasteland. There are essential metals and minerals, but those are miles under the crust, and in recent times it has become more efficient to obtain these materials from off-planet. There are four ATLAS mega-cities that stand in stark contrast to each other: three above-ground, and the sprawling Metropolis under the surface. -Denduron: What first comes to mind when observing Denduron is a striking resemblance to Earth's satellite, the dusty grey surface oddly unsettling to tourists. Still, under the surface, there is a massive (in Solaran terms) Titanium deposit, essential for the Knighthawk Foundry to design their Helot-War Droids. The City which surrounds the Foundry, which is located in a massive subterranean spite that juts out of the surface, is large and mainly spartan in design. -Eo: This region underwent extensive terraforming, transforming what was once the barren surface of Denduron to a lush, tropical paradise. Several Foundries are located here, as well as the upper echelon of ATLAS civilization, as the region is incredibly beautiful to behold. -Teth: Also known as Tempest, this city lays near the center of Solara's sole ocean, built upon the bedrock of the relatively shallow, yet chaotic sea. Teth is split into two sections: the above level, which primarily belongs to the Solarflare Interstellar Guild, and the lower, fluorescent section, which belongs to residents. -Asphodel: By far and away Solara's largest city, this underground metropolis spans hundred of miles across, even extending underneath Teth. Due to its proximity towards the minerals and metal deposits under the crust, it hosts the vast majority of Solaran Foundries. Moons: Solara has 34 Moons, several merely oversized asteroids, but there are a few traditional satellites, which are used mainly as Foundries. They stand in stark contrast to Solara in that they are incredibly material-rich, making them prime mining resources.
