It seems to be two people talking to each other in a foreign language. Normal for any transmission this far out. What's odd about this one is that the conversation is taking place on one end of the line and being broadcast out on open air... Like a radio broadcast...?

Intrigued by this broadcast, Alexandra pulls a chair up and sits by a computer, with Natalie on a radiowave definicitacor (pinpoints radio waves, not real device sadly), and they attempt to find the source of the signal.

The signal is barely encrypted, and is quite easy to pinpoint as barely half a lightyear away— Holy shit. The ping returns a MASSIVE number of ship readings, numbering six digits teetering on seven, containing the mass of several planets. It must be some sort of interfleet radio show. What they're doing out here, though, remains a mystery.
did you get this cleared for plot purposes fam? Because everyone's on one ship currently.

Yes.
-
wait, who exactly cleared you?

Murph.

okay.
Intrigued by this, they send a radio broadcast to one of the ships.
