Year 2 Exotics That Outclass Ghorn
We all remember the amazing Ghorn, right? The one Exotic weapon every Guardian sought after in Year 1 of Destiny. The Ghorn would make short work out of the Templar, Atheon, Ir Yut the Deathsinger, Crota, and every PoE boss including Skolas. However, with Year 2 now here, there are some new Exotics that now outclass the almighty Ghorn. Let's start.
Raze-Lighter: Let's just face it, this weapon deals MASSIVE damage to any and all targets. You don't believe me? Then how about if I telk you that you can bring down Crota's shield with ONE Phoenix Uppercut? You needed multiple Ghorn rounds to do that. You can actually solo the Crota boss fight if you have invisibility and the Raze-Lighter.
Sleeper Simulant: This weapon absolutely TEARS through Atheon. A whole team of Guardians equipped with this weapon can bring down Atheon in one Time's Vengence phase. Sure you could do the same with Ghorn but the Sleeper can shoot through the VoG relic bubble. You can't do that with Ghorn. And it doesn't make Atheon move out of the way, unlike rockets.
Touch of Malice: Just look up any "Touch of Malice vs. X" video and you can see why. A primary that can fire an infinite amount of shots, if you can manage your health well, and has plenty of reserve ammo. You don't need to pray for a Heavy ammo brick to drop with this badboy.
Black Spindle: Essentially Black Hammer 2.0, this Exotic Sniper has the highest impact rating in the game and does insane amounts of damage to any boss where you can get three crits on in a row over and over and over again. And since snipers are a must have for PvE, and since special ammo is more frequently dropped than heavy ammo, this weapon beats out Ghorn in its overall usefulness.
These are only a few of the exotics that I feel outclass the Ghorn. If you have any exotics that you feel also outclass Ghorn or disagree with any of the exotics I chose, feel free to sound off in the comments.

Raze lighter is not as good as G-horn because you have to get close up to the enemy to do any damage, and by the time you do a decent amount of damage you are killed. G-horn could kill from a long distance. And do you see raze lighter used often in raids? No. G-horn was used in every part of every year 1 raid. Sleeper Simulant is pure garbage. WOW A YEAR 2 weapon can take down crota's sheild! No way! Yeh G-horn did that in 1.5 shots as a year 1 weapon. Touch of Malace is good but it kills you slowly when you use it. G-horn never damaged its owner and back in year one people were making videos entitled G-horn vs X, and gallarhorn would always come out on top. Black spindle is pretty much a year 2 black hammer, and black hammer was way better than black spindle because you could use infinite ammo. But even black hammer was not thought to be better than the legendary G-horn. So before you say anything about the almighty and powerful gallarhorn check your facts again, because they are false.

2 RepliesEdited by SolarCerberuS: 2/23/2016 5:43:23 AMGlad it wasn't brought to year 2 it was easy mode for everything and made lfg into "must have max Gjally" fest feel bad for those wishing to raid who were left out because of those dweebs requiring it. Sleeper is fun to use was great for ripping pre nerf sunbreakers a new one and devastates in solar burns. I never bothered grabbing the spindle why? I don't do raids for one so don't really need it and the white nail perk should have reverted to the pre black hammer nerf perk it is meant to be exotic after all. Touch of malice I laugh at those in crucible who use it one aoe grenade after they fire a couple health sappers off and they are done. I tend to rock exotic primaries and secondaries anyway but break out the heavies once every noy and then.

4 RepliesI have a question about the sleeper stimulant. I stopped playing destiny for a while when year 2 first came out. I turned in all 4 fusion rifles but I don't have the quest. what could I do about this? or how could I still get it?

I don't think any of the names weapons, or any un-named weapons could out damage a Ghorn'ed of its same level. Even with the Wolfpack Round nerf, it still does ungodly amounts of damage to adds and bosses alike. I do love me some Raze-Lighter though lol

3 RepliesYou can't compare the damage of a 310 weapon to that of a 170. Also you are 8 levels higher then what you were when crota first came out. Ghorn would be the best exotic in the game if it was year 2. Even with the wolf pack nerf

If raze lighter and sleeper were at year 1 levels, it would be the same as ghorn.

Sleeper simulant - super slow reload and charge rate. Touch of Malice - this weapon will actually kill you. Black spindle - just a nerfed black hammer. Gjallarhorn - can kill you if you fire it while enemies are too close.

4 RepliesLol you are obviously not taking the level advantages in to account here. None of these year 2 exotics can compare to the amount of dps the gjallarhorn could dish out in such a small amount of time.

None really. Nothing posseses the huge burst damage output with as little risk to use.
