Bungie will most likely not extend the time.
PSN had issues with the previous IB and it was not extended.
The only way it'll be extended is if Xbox [u]and[/u] PSN had lasting issues.

It could be lasting I still can't get on haven't been able to get on for 11 hours

If it's that long it's most likely your ISP.

Nope tried it both on my household isp along with a hotspot off my phone. One of my buddies is having same issue. I contacted Xboxsupport and they said I should be able to get on with the next hour
