Phaedrus catches the bolts in midair, but doesn't attempt to throw them back. He merely tosses them aside non-threateningly.
"You slay the Imperials, perhaps your only chance of victory, for what? They have already activated their defense grid, and the only thing stopping them from launching their fleets is the Federation. So why do you fight, warrior?"

"Then I don't think you understand the brevity of this situation. I have no fantasies about this battle: with the Defense Grid up, the Imperials will win this battle, and by the time they're done with the Federation fleets, they begin to activate their Weapons Grid. If you wish to fight the Federation, so be it, but separately there can only be one outcome." He grabs the hilt of the sword, but doesn't activate the blade. He seems reluctant to fight you.

"No. I'm saying that we die together." Phaedrus ignites his blade, and points it at the doors at the end of the room. "If we kill Hallwinter and Commander Tedford, then we will cut the head off of the Imperial snake. If you truly love your Alliance, you will do what is necessary."
