Should Destiny character races mean something?

What would everybody think about making our characters race play into the game a little more? Maybe give an attribute boost based on race (Exo=armor, awoken=recovery, human=agility)... Or even have a full blown "race skill tree" that differs by race with certain race-based characteristics, abilities, and passive modifiers. That way you need to spec your subclass AND character...I think this could make for a ton more diversity and customization amongst characters. I'm not talking about big things that would cause imbalance but small things to compliment people's play styles even more. What are your thoughts??

Yeah, no. The Ram currently gives a measly 3% armor boost (after getting nerfed) and people still get huffy and pissy about it. Fat chance giving any sort of passive armor buff to a specific race. PvP players would dogpile onto it like the world was ending.
