The Division VS Destiny

----------- The only thing Destiny has going for it in comparison is more fluid game play mechanics. This really is only a product of it being a first person run and gun friendly combat system. Basically, these positive aspects are a byproduct of what comes with the territory, not skillful execution. Bungie could have made the greatest game ever to be seen and set a new standard to aspire for every title to come after it. Instead they chose to be incompetent and dropped the ball because they couldn't prioritize quality game play into their decision making. F@#k Destiny, Bungie, and the horse they rode in on. Destiny is dead, even if some of the current players still haven't caught onto that fact yet. Brain activity still persists for a few minutes after death. In this way is it also meaningless that Destiny still has active players. It's nothing short of a blessing from GOD that Bungie face planted with such great force that we can all hear the scraping of bone as Bungie surfs the pavement. ----------- I had reservations about the Division, but I started playing the Beta and I'm full of hope. The kind of hope that is full of great excitement, but still cautiously optimistic. The sort of optimism that can only be developed by the experience of a year one Destiny player. Anyone interested in the Division should know it is a cover based, third person shooter. Though this is self evident by game play videos, I say this to point out its not entirely friendly to run and gun, out in the open tactics. However, it is extremely fun - even though I tend to enjoy more fast paced mechanics. The slower pace of execution and movement is balanced by the speed of tactical analysis and decision making the player experiences. Actually playing the game is very different than watching the videos. It has a very in depth RPG element. You can upgrade and customize weapons, even skins. You have skill trees and subsets of skill modifications to choose from. It really is shaping up to look like the next big contender for the greatest MMORPG for this generation of games. As long as they execute the long term development of the game properly...as long as they don't go Bungie...

    • TLDR so I'm just gonna say what I think with Division VS Destiny. For me the Division is the same as Destiny. The main difference for me is that the Division seems like something you could take a break from and actually be able to play after break. I made a rant about how Destiny is unplayable after a break if your Light level is not 318 or above.

    • The Division beta is better than the Destiny beta was. It only has one mission so even if the game is short, I haven't played like 1/4th of the vanilla game in the beta. The ability system looks fun considering you can mix and match different choices rather than having to choose between Healer, Tank or Tech. Haven't seen much on the Perk and Talent systems yet. I really don't understand people who say the graphics are bad. They're definitely better than destiny. The lighting effects look great especially in the snow and mist. The snow itself actually shows snowflakes when they're close to the camera. Windows don't reflect everything but are much better than Watch Dogs. The only thing bad in the division that I can see is the animations could use some work. There seems to be a lot more interactivity with The Division. There are doors that can be opened and actually entered. Lights can be shot out to (presumably) help or hinder players/enemies. The game works. Only bugs I've seen in my playthrough of the beta are steam clipping through a wall, and a random person showing as friend in the game. On a much more personal side, Third person cover based will turn a lot of people away. The setting might too, depending on the person. Overall, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the beta so far. It's fun to play with a group or solo. It has matchmaking, not sure what that actually matchmakes for, but the option is there. The gunplay feels solid, the movement works well and the most important thing, at least to me, is its enjoyable. Just my thoughts on Division Beta.

    • I hope the Division capitalises on Bungies failure to treat the players with respect and fulfil the potential of the game. 'Build it and they will come!' - some dude from that film Drip feed it and be conniving and they will leave - me, just now

    • Division is disappointing and I was looking so forward to it, lack luster graphics and typical 3rd person shooter operations the darkness zone is the only interesting thing about the game. The graphics and horrible awkward control of your character reminds of old console games, it's a shame after three years they couldn't of done better with the graphics and controls! Destiny is in a league of its own and yes it has issues but division will come and go and destiny will still be here.
