Although I'm not confident all of Bernie's ideas would work or even be approved by congress, I do recognize that wealth inequality exists. Trickle-down economics and tax breaks for the rich have failed the economy repeatedly. CEOs earn hundreds of times more than their employees even if the company's profits are down. Hedge fund managers make billions in fees regardless of their funds' performance. A rich man makes a bad investment and can declare bankruptcy to stay rich. A poor man makes a bad investment and is in debt for life or worse. Maybe I'm idealistic, but I think if you work a job full-time, you should earn enough that you don't need to rely on government assistance for a decent quality of life. Healthcare costs and social security for the aging baby boomers will be the largest economic strain America has ever faced. We need new economic policies that might work, not those that have proven to fail time and time again.
