Mida needs some tweaks

So imo mida at the moment is unbalanced and has pretty much 0 drawbacks/flaws. To start it's in a tier of scout that 4 shots to the head similar to voc tier but mida shoots faster so big advantage there in ttk. For some odd reason mida has a huge mag for a scout rifle at a wopping 21 bullets and on top of that it's base reload is maxed. Like in what way is a large clip with max reload balanced? You can just spam shots forever without having to reload its insane. There's no penalty for missing shots! On top of that because of a large mag and fast reload why would you ever use field scout or whatever the other perk is that's not lightweight. Then worst of all the mida without a doubt in my mind has high caliber rounds as a secret perk. Those high caliber rounds really make it so u can't compete with mida from long to mid range because your getting flinched like crazy. Also the zoom on midas scope is too close it's meant to be used at long range as a scout why is it so effective in mid and extended close range. I'd love to hear what everyone has to say supporting or arguing against my opinion please comment with something to add to discussion. Edit: a lot of ppl are touchy on the phrase op so i changed it. I'm enjoying the healthy discussion in here. Although there's still a lot of people just bashing my post because they love their mida. Also a lot of ppl are assuming I'm bad because I'm criticizing mida I just want the weapon to stop out performing other weps in there intended ranges where a scout shouldn't win. Midas strength should lie in it's actual exotic perk the extra mobility and hair trigger which equates to good strafing, getting to advantageous positions faster, and faster reactions. I don't understand why people are replying this because my post isn't about it but ill address it. the comment of "why are you just now complaining about mida and weren't last year?". The answer is easy in year 1 there was a much bigger issue of the 2 shot exotic handcannons that killed at scout range. Additionally I think the last weapon update was just in december? Correct me if thats wrong but the meta only recently set in so this is the most appropriate time to address mida. I know I'm not the only one thats experienced it but I've been in close quarters to mid range situations with a pulse or AR and midas high cal rounds cause my gun to kick up like crazy so I can't land shots but the mida's totally fine and continues to peg me. I don't understand in what world that makes sense for a scout rifle to out perform a mid or close range weapon in their intended ranges respectively isn't that the point of the weapon classes? Another comment I'd like to address is "wow if its so good why don't you just use it". The thing is destiny is a game filled with many guns that surely aren't meant to just be there as filler. They all should be viable choice in certain ranges/situations. I don't want to be forced into using 1 or a few select guns that are top tier just to be competitive and have a chance at winning I like to have fun using all the guns. After all isn't that what they're there for? I'm going to add suggested changes so people aren't so scared of a nerf. I suggest: mida's mag reduced to around 15 or the reload is cut in half mida's secret hcr are removed and replace quickdraw or field scout on the midas perk tree with hcr increase the zoom slightly on midas scope to make it more of a long range weapon and to not perform so well in closer gun fights.   • There will always be a gun that's King of crucible, year 1 it was thorn, begging of year two it was hawksaw (actually any pulse rifle) , now its mida. If it were to get nerfed, a new gun will emerge as King.

    • It's fine as it is. Get up close and personal with Mida users and they can't cope. Trying to engage them at distance won't end well.

    • Another thing that shows how strong it is, the Tlaloc while supercharged has a ever so slightly faster rof (User Error) than Mida. It takes three heads and one body to kill, but the thing is that I have to be super charged to perform with the Mida and can't use my super if I want to to stay that way.

      • Mida isn't the complete problem. Before 2.0 scout rifles were the most balanced gun, Bungie themselves said it. So they changed them. Why? I couldn't begin to even reason why. They buffed the damage on scouts and now scouts rule everything. Back to Mida though, heard a rumor that the year two version got a lot of aim assist. My opinion: Mida should be good at everything, but great at nothing, hence the name "Multi Tool". Just bring scouts back to Pre 2.0 and maybe buff PvE damage.

          This post is a mess, for pve its high caliber rounds that make it worth a look. For pvp hcrs are a good chunk of your ability to counter hard scoping snipers. Taking this out makes no difference on pvp outside snipers. Mida is designed as a lower range scout, it gets wrecked at long range, but it shines at medium long. You want to nerf range, but also increase zoom to make it more unwieldy: this is contradictory and neither would work. This is a mid to long skirmish weapon, making a scout short range is dumb and changing its play style breaks it. Nerfing reload has no real effect as reload glovers counter this and its not designed as a slower weapon. As for a magazine nerf, 15 is the magazine of a low rof, high impact max range. You dont put a magazine of 19 on a doctrine of passing archetype. Same ideal. This gun has barely changed and in most games it'd be fine, its a four shot head that excels at medium long, doesn't rule short or super long and has adaptability, which is its basic design. If suffers overuse because people spam what's popular. Hence a lack of bad jujus, thorns, red deaths, and suros. Since all your nerfs target the anti sniper and are targeting taking it out of its main purpose, I'm against your poorly laid out nerfs, some of us still prefer not sniping. Your post tinges on bias against a gun built to put pressure on snipers, something that is needed to keep variety

            I completely stopped reading when you said "There's no penalty for missed shots!". This is why terrible players shouldn't make any kind of balance topic. You always end up looking like idiots and wrong. Also yes, Destiny is full of filler guns. You will never have every gun in the game be a contender. Mida is only a viable option right now because nearly everything else is horrid.

              • I find that throughout all the buffs and nerfs throughout year 1 and year 2 so far, that Mida has been the most consistently reliable gun in PvP. Just about everything got nerfed to shit and Mida is as reliable as ever and that's why I think it's overused and not overpowered. Other gun types need to get buffed and Mida will appear less imo

              • I loved using it year one. And before xur sold it and out was buy able year two. But now that everyone wants to use and body shot. It's just not the same. Everyone uses it in iron banner. It's always a body shot. I never get killed by a headshot with it. Or there's kids using it for the scrubgun set up.

                • Stopped reading at 0 drawbacks or flaws. Have you tried using it at close-mid range? It gets easily outclassed by autos and pulses because it simply doesn't do enough damage in the scenario. Oh wait! That's what it's meant to do!
