It's not a black or white issue. I'm pretty sure SBMM in some form or manner has always existed throughout the entirety of Destiny's lifespan. After the Dec update, it's been given a much higher priority in matchmaking players. Most of the people in this thread (myself included) are simply arguing that connection/location should take priority for a better quality experience overall (regardless of the outcome of the matches) To accomplish this while also avoiding long wait times between matches, the "skill" requirement will need to be loosened. A pure SBMM system is essentially what a tournament is... Nobody wants to compete in a tournament environment ALL THE TIME. This is a game, it's supposed to be fun.
