Honestly, we don't need SBMM.
If you want competitive game, you go in trial, where matchmaking is based on wins on your cards. That's good and make sense.
Now, if you need to train, find out which load is good, want, perfect your game, you need the old crucible matchmaking (based on nice connection as they did for a too short time). Why?
- you need to figure out your load out. that load out should work aginst players of your level but also try and compensate your weaknesses against players that are better than you. But you'll never get matchmade against them with SBMM...
- this defeats the whole purpose of going in fireteam with friends. How is SBMM working then? it either makes it too easy for some players or too hard for others. The reason to put in SBMM is to get even games according to bungie, but that doesn't work anymore as soon as you team up with some gamer(s) from a different level than you.
- lag: it impacts the game too much now, and makes games just too unbearable too often.
+ I'm not good at crucible, but I had more fun with connection based matchmaking...
