Considering you've barely played any crucible it makes sense why you wouldn't want under any circumstances to be Facing someone better than yourself I want to be playing people better than myself so I can improve my skills Crucible should be harder all around for people Yes loading times might take a bit longer But it's worth it for quality matches and better connections-Once they enforce latency thresholds for matches

    - Just under twice as many kills as you - More than four times your Medals score - I've won more matches than you've even finished If I've "barely played Crucible", what insignificant amount have you played?

App showed you as having almost no games played So if you're such a crucible badass, give me your excuse to why you want to stop randoms instead of playing people of your same skill bracket

What you're asking me to do brings up part of the problem. As skill level increases above 1.0 (or thereabouts), the number of players at said skill level decreases, no? At my standing of top 4%, there aren't a lot of players at that same level active and available at the same time. Due to this, the matchmaking extends to players in the top 3%, 2%, 1% and even top 100 players. Right from the get-go, you've assumed that I want to remove SBMM so I can crush randoms, but that isn't the case. In the same way that you don't want players like me being in your matches for fear of being dominated, I don't want to play against people that would do the same to me. Why is that so unreasonable? (At no point did I proclaim that I am a so-called "crucible badass")

  • Actually you can only theorize on how the sbmm matches people. For all we know it could fill in players from lower brackets ( which I suspect it does ) in order to meet a time standard for match making. The argument for not wanting sbmm due to the longer wait times in higher brackets doesn't hold up-you're going to have extended wait periods the higher in brackets you go. if bungie implements a latency threshold it will also increase wait times; the object isn't to drop into matches and complete them asap, the object is to form quality matches from players of equal skill and connection strength. I don't mind playing people better than myself because I want to consistently get better. Seems like a lot of people on here just don't want the added pressure of knowing they won't be matched with idiots. Sorry I lumped you into that group if you truly aren't.

  • Do several encounters with top 100 players count? I used to be good friends with the guy that is now world #1 in Elimination (had a huge fallout with him in Halo: Reach days) and I've seen him more times than I'd like. When I check the monthly top 100 players for Xbox, I've played against the following from that list within that last month. -an abyssal one #2 -Ace of Di4monds #14 -no backup plan #22 -FullSpe3D (my current worst enemy) #42 -vI2 #70 -I Skye, lowest K/D listed here at 2.64 #93 Not to mention some other players that are within the top 1% (and top 100 in specific playlists) but weren't in the monthly Top 100 Went into Skirmish with a couple of friends the other day (both negative) and were decimated by a particular team of players at 2.30, 2.61 and 1.44. With myself being at 1.64, I hardly think that that counts as a similar skill level for me alone, certainly not my friends. You're right when you say that we can only theorize, but it comes down to two options - SBMM is closer to what I say it is than to what you say, or I'm one of the unluckiest players around.

  • The problem with your theory is that you've only had several encounters Judging from your time played and higher bracket it isn't surprising you've rubbed shoulders with people equal or above your skill. As I previously stated, the current sbmm probably drops in people above/below your bracket for the sake of match making time. That's why you would get matched with better/worse players There's also the problem with destiny pvp being imbalanced to a large degree, which skews people's stats and would result in them being put in the wrong bracket.
