I have to say that i do prefer skill level match making, nothing worse than playing against people you have no chance against, but they definitely need to figure out a way to solve this without taking away SBMM.

Why not just combine Skill matchmaking with matchmaking for players with decent connection? That would solve problems more than using one or the other.
