I don't think I'm understanding this right, so if someone would be so kind to spend a minute clarifying me this I would be really grateful. What I mean is that from my point of view there is a very large players base that benefits from SBMM, and it's the medium-low average skilled players. With SBMM a player of that type will have a chance to win a match most of the times because he will encounter adversaries at the same skill level. Without SBMM the high skill player base would simply roule the game because as far as I know: A. Full teams of high skilled players going in crucible together will always win because it's unlikely that they would be matched against a high skill team of random players B. Solo high skill players will win most of the times because the vast majority of the players base is medium-low and in Destiny a single player can always make a difference. C. Because of A and B, for medium-low skilled players crucible will be a frustrating experience most of the times. From my point of view not having SBMM will advantage only high skill players which is the minority of player base. And this cannot be the goal of any developer. Since everybody seems to disagree I'm sure I'm missing something... Unless forums are filled only of high skill players...

  • SBMM works for anyone, doesn't have to be a top tier player. For example, you might be in the top 50% but you still might get matched against someone from another continent because they are "equal skill" to you. But the higher you are, the more laggy connections are for everyone in that match. This system IMO is flawed because first of all we don't have dedicated servers. And no ranked and casual playlist. Not every top player like sweating their ass off to win a game just for fun. If you use a gun to try it out then RIP. If you play with a friend who isn't as good as you the RIP. If I want to do sweats, then I will organize scrims to play with top tier player. If I want to have fun then I go into regular PvP which I can't do anymore either because everyone who is equal skill to me is trying win so they have to try hard and give full attention. TL;DR - SBMM works for everyone so you could still have atrocious matches even in TOP 50% - Not every player is looking sweat and give full attention to have fun but still hope to win the game. -Read the paragraph

Well, that's what I'm saying. Works for everyone, and it's an advantage for lower skills players. That's because it's preventing and "defending" them to be matched with top tier players. Let's take Iron Banner. Before SBMM a medium low skilled player could only play in the first days of the event to have a chance to reach a decent level. That's because high skilled players were focusing only on last days of the event when the buff is higher and they could destroy masses of scrubs and reach level 5 with a few games. With SBMM this is not possible anymore since easy games are not granted. So both scrubs and Gods must play the entire event and have similar chances to reach level 5. Why Isn't this better? For the lag. It's a different problem, Bungie must fix it. But apart from SBMM. Look: https://www.bungie.net/it/Forum/Post/188142897/0/0 Seems I'm getting this right.
