I went into classic 6v6 with my friend who hadn't bought TTK yet and I made him leader. He was (and is) still fairly new to the game, thus making the matchmaking against similar skill levels to him. As soon as the game started I realized two things: the skill gap that destiny has, and that SBMM is helping and killing PvP at the same time. I have a 1.1 K/D in control (not impressive, but still noticeably above average) and I wiped the floor against those poor souls. I had like 30 kills and a 3-4 K/D. I had about half of all the points my team had, and I realized the skill gap involved. Without SBMM the noobs are left unprotected, but the skilled players have less sweaty matches. With SBMM the noobs are on (more or less) equal terms and the skilled players never get a rest. I think there should be a switch for every player with SBMM:ON and SBMM:OFF But... See, skilled players would just play no SBMM. So, here's where is gets interesting... SBMM has a higher legendary item drop rate...
