At the risk of being roasted by other players I'm going to post an alternative opinion. I'm 72 and have never played any video game before starting Destiny (January of last year). Prior to the introduction of SBMM I was never able to compete in the Crucible. I always finished last with few or no kills (I had a similar experience with SRL - always last). It was very discouraging to realize that, for me, the Bounties and Quests requiring Crucible kills were never going to be accomplished. Since the change to SBMM I've actually had a modicum of success in the Crucible. I've finished fourth a number of times - close to third (more kills but a lower KTD than the guy who finished third) and I'm creeping towards actually finishing a couple of Crucible Quests and have completed a couple of Bounties. So I vote to keep SBMM. Obviously the connection problems should be solved. I realize I'm not in Destiny's prime demographic but I think there are many players out there like me, stuck between 290 and 299, unable to level up because we can't do the Nightfall or King's Fall or compete in the Crucible and couldn't do VOG or Crota's End in year one. We aren't accepted in a clan because our stats are not good enough. (I recently found one that accepted me) SBMM is a welcomed change. I'm constantly amazed at the vitriol and venom that is spewed forth on this forum by some of the posters and I expect to receive my share of it for stating my opinion. At 72, I really don't care! I love playing Destiny and sure it has some flaws but I've tried some other games since acquiring Destiny: COD Blackops, Fallout 4, Uncharted, and Star Wars Battlefront but for me, none compare to Destiny. I'm getting off topic so I'll save the rest of my opinions for other posts.
