First time trying raid last night, with a group of totally random people who connected in the Tower. Turned out to be a great group.
Can someone explain to me what the difference is between hooking up with complete strangers on an LFG site vs. in game?
Be nice to have MM for weekly, Daily, Prison of Elders... don't understand why there isn't? Some activities are just horrid grinding solo and for the folks with little gaming time, LFG is not where they want to spend time :(

Well, it would be a quick and first step to add matchmaking to all activities (maybe initially not the raid). It would also show that Bungie are listening to the players.

I said this earlier! :) VERY GLAD PEOPLE AGREE!

Dude, this has been asked for ad nauseam. Didn't you read the most recent update? Bungie is tone deaf. They don't give a shit about the reasonable requests of this community. They've got their collective heads so far up their own collective asses, they can't see daylight. We are nothing more than button mashing monkeys with bank accounts. Seriously, man. Give it up. It's over.

Exactly this.

Edited by STARKILLER2258: 1/24/2016 5:57:22 AMI have no problem with optional, but don't expect to get much done. I just spent a week with a dozen different teams trying to get them through this raid. I have come to a conclusion that the reason only 15% or so get through the raid is because 85% are god damn retarded. They don't listen, they run around shooting at each other, they start the damn sequence when they shouldn't during instructions making everybody wipe. They can't help themselves. They just can't. They shoot at the adept knights at totems before everybody is ready. I say don't shoot a gun in here because it will start, and 2 seconds later BLAM, moron shoots his gun, not once but 4 frigging times. They run to the end of the room at oryx and start it during instructions, not once but at least 3 times during instructions. They start jumping around on the plates at sisters, etc. They can't seem to tell their left from their right, they don't understand counter clockwise, they show up with shotguns, no snipers, and a frigging hand gun. They go AFK out of the blue, they crank music in the background, they sing while you're explaining mechanics. Just before we had a dude that just could not find his frigging plate at oryx. 3 wipes in a row because this dude was never where he was supposed to be. This week was a frigging nightmare. I am in total 100% agreement with digidv85 below. The horror stories are real, and they do exist. I never encountered a pack of morons as I have this week. These people have NO hope of ever going through that raid, none at all. It was like working with the minions from despicable me.

-blam!- you. Horrible idea. That shit would never work.

If you don't see the problem with raid matchmaking than you're an idiot!
-
Don't listen bungie.

It's not hard to get folks..go to the forum..

I've explained it 30+ times on these forums why raids should not have matchmaking. I'm sick of typing out the same obvious reasons time and time again but here we go: Players with no mics, no option to kick, players going AFK, players dilaberately sabotaging the raid, players without skill, players who have no idea what the steps are, players who are low light levels, players who are lazy and expect to be carried, players with the wrong weapons, so on and so forth. My biggest comparison would be to the random pool of PvP players that are match made. In Rift, you gather at the spark, pick it up then run it to the Rift, simple right? Except every match I get match made with, the same matchmaking you're expecting will magically succeed in performing completed raids, no one follows the objective. And bear in mind this is just ONE objective. All the other times my teammates camp with snipers trying to get kills, or run off randomly not giving a shit about the spark. Throw these same morons into a raid pool do you honestly think a single raid would be completed? Try managing the counter clockwise platforms of Oryx without assigning anyone to each platform since no one brought a mic, then watch in profound rage at how the other people dont realize they have to murk their Ogre before they reach the middle thus leading to wipe after wipe after wipe. I've done all three raids. They require complete coordination and open communication of all six people involved. This isn't something simple like a Strike. It's meant for the highest ranking elite players. Assuming Bungie gave into this absurd demand, the forums would be immediately flooded with rage posts claiming MM raids were the worst idea since New Coke was introduced. Why does it not click with all the beggars for this that nothing would get accomplished? At best in KF you would get up to the Hive Wall part but without anyone telling everybody else how you're going to approach this: Players 1 and 2 start it up, Players 3 and 4 go to the platforms, 5 and 6 start shooting the enemies in the center for example, then it's blatantly obvious everyone would run off, do their own thing leading to inevitable wipes. Also don't forget all of the other concerns mentioned in the beginning of this reply. If randomly put together teams can't even work as a group to beat a single PvP objective then MM raids would be no exception. I don't even play 3v3 because everyone I get matched with runs off lone wolf style. In 3v3 you must stay together! Otherwise the idiot who runs off will get triple teamed leaving the remaining two at a disadvantage. Same thing with Trials. If everyone's desire is to raid then make some friends, join a clan, recruit out of the tower or make an Internet post. Cause raid MM is not happening.
