it's funny seeing everyone complaining about sbmm bc they can't pubstomp anymore and their precious k/ds are dropping
you feel like every match is a sweaty now? u don't like losing? how do you think randoms felt going up against you.
u say u can't take a match off now, lol, like u ever did before. please the only time u unequip the meta is when bungie creates a new one with their "balancing"
basically if you complain about sbmm, only thing I have to say is git gud scrub

edit: if its the lag that bothers you, then complain about the lag. Bungie said they will look into the latency issues, if you want to believe them

I like it. My kd is slowly going up. The only time I get horribly outclassed is when I'm in a fireteam with my friends who are far better than I am. I've learned to run support/cleanup when I'm with them.

I actually like playing games when you win or lose by like 5 points... More fun than getting roasted 20k to 5k

1 ReplyI consider my self to be a pretty good player, especially on my hunter. The issue is that it's legitimately not fun to try hard all the time which is why most games have social playlists that are Unranked and you can mess around in. Now, even though there is no rank associated with the playlist that the player can see, all the playlists behave like ranked playlists. It gets tiring and I for one don't enjoy the crucible at all right now while even during the mess that was the HoW, I found that much more enjoyable and relaxing.

3 RepliesWhat I don't understand is this: no one has mentioned, from what I've seen, the benefits of beating opponents that are better than you, you will 100% improve your game. This in turn leads to an increase of wins in engagements and possibly matches, which leads to more general enjoyment. The problem is, people want to go into crucible and have a laugh, but still want to never die and be the best player of the lot. So, what I suggest is get good, and I mean literally. If you're getting stomped on and are in a team, talk it through, employ a different tactic and remember everyone. [b]everyone[/b] has weakness that can be taken advantage of. What's the benefit of beating players that are at a stage where they won't beat you 1 in 20 match ups? Nothing. You learn from your mistakes.

12 RepliesThe reason people don't like SBMM has nothing to do with Skill. It is because the Peer2Peer system matches people regardless of geographic location. This can create horrible latency. If the system somehow could match based on skills and location it would be awesome, but since it can't people would rather have location based.

1 ReplyOk but what about when I don't wanna use last word, thorn, 1000 yard stare, or conspiracy theory D... The reason my K/d is good is because I'm actually good with whatever I use. The issue is 90% of these "high skill players" are only so good because they haven't strayed from the meta since day 1. It has been suros, thorn, last word, red death/hawksaw, and mida for them since they entered PvP.

Yes I notice almost everyone has about the same kd in games I play but it's not always that bad one day I had some amazing games back to back but yesterday I was rage quitting so much

1. SBMM has caused a significant increase of matching up against red bars because the matchmaking has to travel farther to find people of similar skill. Having your kd go down because you are playing in a lagging environment is frustrating. 2. SBMM is not always fun. Sometimes you don't want intense matches, but you don't want it to hurt your score. Maybe there could be a ranked portion of the crucible? 3. Blowouts use to be much more common. So they accomplished their goal of making games more fair and closer with their new SBMM. However, people sometimes just want to mess around with new weapons and this system discourages going outside your comefort zone. 4. I'm a 1.3 kd player, I have been in every single shooter I have played. I have never been above 1.5 and I have never been below 1.0 overall. Obviously I have my good and bad games. Because I am so close to a 1.0 kd anyway this new system doesn't affect me much. Maybe I'll go down to a 1.2 in the next couple months. But people who have 2.0+ kd are really feeling this system change the hardest. Why? Because they have to go across the country or into other countries to find similar skill players. This results in unforgiving lag issues. Keep in mind at this level players now 1/2ms pings. And if Bungie admits this is the goal, any significant lag is simply unacceptable. (Refer to point 1)

I like it but it has to be an algorithm of both sides, Skill & Connection is all. Also if this 50% win ratio thing exists it had to be erased immediately or introduce ranked playlist.

I do not, repeat have absolutely no problem with SBMM. I just want better servers instead of P2P bullcrap matchmaking me with scrubby ass frenchies that seem to think red barring is normal. Ahh... We can dream.

Its not about sbmm. Its about the basic problems with red bar. like skills from Neo, Superman and Dr. Manhattan. So New system will recognize the amazing skill from this type of players and...... Most people are angry that bungie doesnt fix this red bar shit, but implement a new system, which wont work because of red bar pvp "skill"

I'll explain it to you. Players are tired of the constant red bars all when before ttk dropped we saw 1 every other map instead of 3 per game.
