How are you supposed to counter a fist of havoc?

It's nothing more than a panic button. A goddamn panic button. It requires literally ZERO skill to kill people with it. You simply press a button and everyone around you dies in less than a second. Once the animation has been initiated, the only way to stop it is if you have a super, three rocket launchers, or a dozen shotguns already aimed at the guy. No other super activates that fast, so unless you have one already active, and are aiming at them, you've got pretty much no freaking chance of stopping it. What the hell are you supposed to do? Stay away from all titans at all times just in case one might have it ready? Killing a Titan before he has the chance to press the button doesn't work, as he'll simply have it ready the next time he respawns. It's simply not feasible to kill a Titan after the button's been pressed unless he's already severely wounded. Why the hell is it that whenever this is brought up on the forums, everyone jumps to its defense? The striker subclass is supposed to be unstoppable, I get it. What I don't like is how no other class has a super that's that goddamn effective. No other class has a super that, once activated, guarantees that everyone around you will die unless they either happen to have a super capable of killing you already active, or they have a fist of havoc that they can also use to survive the explosion. I know that these forums has a severe allergic reaction to the word "nerf", but I really think that Fist of Panic deserves it. At least make it so that in PVP it requires a second to charge before detonating, making their window of vulnerability slightly larger. "Press a button to instantly kill everyone around you." is OP in the crucible even amongst supers. It simply can't be countered by anything because once it's activated, you've got less than a second to react, which is not enough time to do anything capable of stopping it. Either give us a more time to counter it, or give the other classes a super each that is equally unstoppable. To everyone who will inevitably side with the super and insult me in the comments below, I genuinely want to know how you can justify this. Every super has a bane, a weakness, except this one. GG has no armor and can easily be shut down, WoD can be countered by simply staying away from the bubble or blowing it up with another super, Stormcaller is easily noticable and thus gives players a chance to react and flee from it. Fist of Havoc has no weakness. If you're in range when it's activated, you will die.. If you disagree, I challenge you to explain a reliable method of not dying when you're in range of an incoming panic fist. Seriously, the only ways a FoH could actually NOT kill people is if they somehow belly flopped off the map, chose to waste it when there were no enemies around, or if they chose to belly flop at someone who already had GG aimed at them ready to fire. Also if someone reacted by activating their own belly flop so the armor would protect them, but that's assuming they're a titan and also have a ready-to-activate FoH. All of the above can be avoided with even the slightest bit of competence and should not be considered "weaknesses" of the super.

  • Well since they buffed the unstoppable perk there is nothing you can do to stop it now. The only thing that use to work was a powerful shotgun but they needed those into the ground so there is NOTHING

    • While I can understand the frustration from dyin from any super, I have over time adjusted play styles to different supers when I hear them directionally AND based on what I hear or see they are. Nova bomb can be considered a "panic" defense when you don't see your opponent out of view when aimed at the ground, as a hammer of sol, and same goes for rockets when you are over shielded and may be able to take the proximity damage vs your opponent who is closer to the point of impact. If I had seen this post yesterday, I would've simply compiled several clips (about 12 of them from the last 30 games) when activating the slam was simply gunned down by heavy ammo in mid air, or hit in the back by two guardians with shotguns while a third got the final shot with a last word hand cannon etc etc... It's not unstoppable. And while I understand your feedback and can empathize with your point of view I have to disagree with the nerf aspect. Thank you for showing respect to the players who use the Titans by not calling them anything, and focusing your feedback on the game and not the people playing it. Your feedback was respectful and I can disagree, but respect you despite disagreeing. So I disagree with your nerf request. And I respect your feedback. Hang in there bro. Keep a shotgun handy. When you start taking Titans out mid slam you'll see you can do it, just look for the charged super indicator and be ready. It's doable. Peace.

    • I never panic when I use it. The word "havoc" is used for a reason. Everyone's super kills quickly or makes you harder to kill, that is how supers are supposed to work. It makes you super. Think of it like a traffic light. Sometimes you get the green light, and sometimes you are stopped. Everyone gets their shot at a super-the FoH is not easy to use to its max potential-I try and save mine until I get a group of morons all clumped together. I have been taken out of FoH with a shotgun-albeit, it must be well timed, but a Titan is not invincible one FoH is activated. I don't like the "git gud scrub" mentality, but complaining about this stuff makes you look very close minded and whiny. So someone FoH you to oblivion-just take it out on the next opponent you see and move on. This game does not need to be made any less fun right now.

        • You counter it by dying immediately then mashing X/A for 10 seconds while your respawn counter ticks down from 3 seconds. Once respawned you will attempt to get revenge only to die at the hands of an inevitable nova bomb you never saw coming.

          • It's the only stationary contact super? If you're silly enough to let a Titan rush you and get himself in Havoc range it's your fault. Let me put it in perspective. Every super has a certain degree of functioning to get reward. GG for example requires you to aim, and pull. Nova Bomb- Aim and throw. Bubble gets no reward, it is not an inherent offensive super. HoS - Aiming and throwing, moving around. FoH is unique in the sense that getting yourself in that range, for it to garner an amount of kills that deem it usable IS the function. You've already done the hard part of the super by getting into that position. Same as GG- You're aiming your gun (function), pressing shoot (kill button)- getting a kill. If you miss, your fault. FoH, you're rushing to get in close, waiting around corners in elevated positions (function) pressing super usage (kill button) - getting kill(s) - if you mess up timing, if your target is too far away, your fault. These all have the potential to be "panic supers " (landfall has been added due to it being a mini fist of havoc with the ability to kill a full health arc blade). Landfall nova bomb tether Arc blade Radiance (radiant skin in particular) Also, sometimes you just aren't meant to counter it. Sorry. If I come face to face with a bladedancer, I'm not gonna counter it. If I'm in a nova bombs range, not gonna counter it. It's a super. Sorry. Adapt.

You must either be ridiculously new or completely terrible at this game to find Fist of Havoc a threat. Until the last update it was absurdly easy to kill a Titan mid leap, I know, it happened to me a lot. That's why there was such a surge away from the subclass when TTK launched. Hunters and warlocks have three relatively offensive supers while Titans have two. Aside from the initial juggernauts they were when Sunbreaker was made available being a Striker Titan was akin to being a slower slightly heavier hunter at times. Yes, it can be a panic button but if you've played as a Striker you know how awesome it can be in either PVP or PVE. Literally destroying five out of six players on an opposing team in control is a great feeling and delivers on the thing all classes are meant to deliver on. A sense of power. So instead of railing against a thing because it exists why don't you get better at the game, play as the thing you "hate" and gain some insight, or just quit playing altogether. Because reading through this makes you look like an incapable idiot.

Funny thing is you thick any super take skill to use. Let get this straight now no super takes any skill to use Also as you don't have a Titan your opinion on the matter is invalid

                  • Okay. First off, lets not complain about a panic slam. Its a panic slam for a reason and thats to get the player out of hasty situations he may face. Now. Lets re-evaluate this. If you see a TITAN running directly at you, it could be one or two things: 1. He/she is going to use Fist of Havoc! OR 2. He/she wants a hug! And usually its the latter. So moving forward to counters. Supers that are a one hit KO. Nova Bomb, Golden Gun, and another Fist of Havov. Depending on the situation it can be countered, granted the proper execution. E.g. Blink and dunk your space magic onto his rock, sturdy body. Or even so, a titan's suppression grenade is very helpful in stopping a panic slam too.
Stategies my friend
• As others have mentioned, while the supper itself is nearly impossible to counter, it has no range and the Titan needs to get into position to use it. That's the difference between FOH and say, golden gun. Golden gun can 1 shot you from across the map Fist of Havoc cannot.

                  • It's exactly the same as a rocket being aimed at your feet, except you get an opportunity to kill the rocket and stop it going off. If you get caught by FoH, it's your fault. It's your fault because he didn't start six feet away from you, he started on the other side of the map, and you didn't kill him, and you let him get six feet from you.

                  • Not true. I am a 305-308 titan and I have been killed multiple times after I have triggered it. And not by someone using another super. I think the speed and devastation with which it activates is great. Because every other super has a timed effect that lasts longer. And simply backing and shooting a titan is the best defense against it.

                  • You assume it's a panic super. Used properly it's very strategic. I save mine for things like when 3 or more guardians are having tea party at the heavy ammo or you know how they like to hide behind that counter on b zone in Momento? Boom! Not panic, strategy. I have a shottie for sudden surpises. Havoc is also very effective still in pve as well. Remember the damage is a vertical cylinder. Can take out a high floating wizard from the ground and all her mobs. The supers were designed to compliment each other in team play. Why don't you try teaming up with us Strikers instead of knocking us. You may be happy to have us around when your in a tough spot. When I get dropped into a match I'm happy to see different sub classes on my team. Nothing like standing in my friends nova bomb as he saves my ass.
