Immersion is relatively weak as far as reputation goes. It needs to matter more. Do you guys agree?

I agree.

I disagree.

I have an alternative solution (explain)

PLEASE READ POST BEFORE VOTING!! Donating resources, increasing rep, testing guns, it's never felt like we're doing anything useful. It's all just data. I've never felt as though the stuff I'm doing has actually helped the vanguard or the various factions in any way. I think that needs to change. We need to feel the impact of our deeds on the people. My proposal Community goals + Buffs. Gunsmith Community Goal: X number of guardians fully test a weapon by X manufacturer during the week. Buff: Next week all weapons from that manufacturer get a buff depending on how it was tested. If precision shots were required for the tests, then all weapons by said manufacturer would gain a boost to accuracy. Killing a number of enemies? Damage boost. Reputation: Once the community goal has been reached, the buff you receive as an individual gets a tiny bit larger with every rank in Gunsmith rep you have (obviously, it will have a cap to maintain balance). NOTE: Gunsmith week is Armsday to Armsday. For everyone else, it's the weekly reset. Vanguard Community Goal: Complete X amount of Patrol missions where the objective is to kill enemies (or special enemy). Buff: Small amount of bonus damage against enemies in PVE for the next week. Reputation: Larger damage boost for each rank in Vanguard. ------ Community Goal: Complete X amount of Patrol missions where the objective is to gather data or samples of something. Buff: Increased PVE Glimmer gain for the next week. Reputation: Larger increase for each rank in Vanguard. Crucible Community Goal: Complete X amount of crucible matches. Buff: Increased Glimmer and XP gain from killing guardians and completing objectives in the crucible. Reputation: larger increase for each rank in Crucible. Dead Orbit/Future War Cult/New Monarchy These factions will compete in each of the following categories for buffs: 1) Total Rep gained with that faction during the week by all members. 2) Amount of Motes of Light Donated. 3) Amount of Synthesis, Weapon Parts, Armor Materials, and other mats donated. Everyone who is a part of the faction who gained the most rep, will gain a buff to reputation gain. Not just in that faction, but in every faction. Every member of the faction who had the most motes of light donated to them gets increased XP gain for the following week. Every member of the faction that had the most other mats donated gets a slight increase to the mats they gain when they dismantle weapons, and also a tiny damage buff. As always, the size of the buff you get as an individual is affected by your reputation with the winning faction. Why I think this would help immersion Rep's all well and good, but this way we're encouraged to take part in a wider range of activities, because we'd be getting something in return. Normally, my weekly Destiny schedule involves doing the raid (if by some miracle I can get a team together), the nightfall, shopping with Xur, throwing myself at the brick wall that is Trials of Osiris for the umpteenth time...and that's pretty much it. With a system like this in place I believe that I'd spend more time doing stuff other than endgame content and bargain hunting (btw, Bungie. If you're reading this...when's Xur going to have the Radiant Dance Machines in stock? I need those, man!). I also get the feeling that I'm not the only person who does this. I like to think that this would be a welcome addition. You know, as opposed to a system where currently, you give someone some weapon parts and all you get is a progress bar saying "We like you slightly more!" So please, cast your vote and hit that like button (I know I seem like an ass for asking this, but if Bungie doesn't see it, what's the point?).
