It's going to fail like every other game if people hold their expectations too high.
From recent titles the ONLY game I can actually slam for being a failure at launch was destiny.
Oh. And MCC. Black ops 3 is amazing. But gets bashed because it's call of duty.
Halo 5 is solid. But gets bashed because the newest halo is always crap to their community. (though to be fair it launched incomplete and still is missing some key gametypes. It still launched with a solid base.)
Rainbow six siege is also amazing. and they are handling DLC right just like halo 5.
Starwars battlefront also launched with a very good base it's just lacking in content.
etc. People are really overplaying things. when really the problem this time (for most titles) is the consumer base.

Edited by Charliebigchip: 1/25/2016 10:36:39 AMI had big issues with R6 servers when it launched, and still am although not as bad. That is the only thing that stained an otherwise amazing game IMO. If The Division can get it right at launch on the server side i think we are in for a winner!!

I've had it since launch. And while i'm sure more people have played it a lot more then me. (i'm only rank 40 something) I've only had the servers drop me and my friends twice. So i've never really had server problems.

You're lucky mate. It might have a lot to do with my location (Middle East) but i had the issue when games would finish and it would not give us the "renown". Im at level 55 (i think) with over 20k renown in the bank, would have been a lot more without that glitch.

That could be it. Games of late seem to be really harsh on people outside the USA canada/mexico area.

Seems to be the case only with Dedicated servers. With P2P I can configure my router to only connect to nearby hosts. But with dedi, you have to connect to a data centre which in R6's case is in Canada (I believe). I have a decent connection by countries standards but I still average a 150 ms ping on R6 due to distance latency. Not good :-(
-
True. That's why I think games need to use a hybrid of dedi and p2p. Dedi doesn't really fix peoples lag anyway. All it really does besides making hotfixes faster is it prevents the host from dropping the game. Then again if your connection to the dedi is terrible or the dedi's connection to the players is terrible it doesn't really fix anything.

They got rid of some game modes The hub sucks There's like nothing to do Maps are all similar and bad

Nice points! I do feel that developers are making bad decisions for its consumers, but I also think a lot of gamers are becoming too self-entitled. We're expecting way too much now, but that might be a good thing for the future I suppose.

As each game/system releases developers are capable of doing more. and thus the expectations of consumers rise.
