Is that how life works, does it not come in one beautiful wave until it crashes into the shore? Couldn't I say the same thing about you? Would you like to tell me more specifically what you have been up to and I you?

But is a thread truly alive? Does our use of personification actually give the thread life? Or does it just give us an easier way to understand things? Have I been pleasantly content throughout the our time apart? (Non related to us being apart)

Don't personifications often times lend themselves well to explaining complex thoughts and concepts? Would you like to speak in sentences while talking about how we have been to make it a little easier on ourselves?
