Lost Sols, I believe that what you fail to see is that a lot of Destiny players are playing Destiny far more casually than you seem to do, and have a far less demanding attitude towards it. For them, it's not that one game with awesome potential they want to see living up to that potential. It's one game among many for them. I just need to look at my son. He is playing Fallout 4, Ark Evolved, Armored Warfare, Star Wars Battlefront, Minecraft, and in between a bit Destiny. The world doesn't end for him because Destiny is not what people were made to believe it would be (yes, in my book, Destiny players were lied to by Bungie on a regular base). The people visiting these forums are a microscopically small fraction of the people playing (or having played) Destiny. That is true for every other game, too. Most people do not care enough, or do not notice the flaws of a game enough, to be bothered trying to change something about it. Destiny is not the only game with a promising formula that is never being brought to its full potential. I know more of these. Yet people keep purchasing and playing them, and aren't very disappointed if a game is, well, disappointing. They move on. That's what people telling you to move on because it's only a game are trying to tell you. They are also asking you whether there is so little besides Destiny that makes your life worthwile that you need to fight so hard for Destiny to become what you desire it to be. You should evaluate your position towards Destiny and ask yourself what is making you fight so passionately for the changes you would like to see being made to it, instead of moving on to greener (or at least different) pastures. A part of the answer may lie in the way Destiny has been built to exploit and manipulate the human brain's reward system. The only way to break out of the habit and desires that has been causing is to deliberately put Destiny aside and keep your mind occupied with other things until you have learned to enjoy these again and are not craving for your daily dose of Destiny's skinner box reward system anymore. Back to numbers. Bungie is seeing the millions of players playing, or having played Destiny, and the revenue that has brought them. The few people complaining in the forums are only a drop in that ocean. They do not need to care about them. Even if their behavior is objectively immoral, they can afford to go on with it, and believe me: There are many, many people in the business world who act exactly like that with great success.

  • I agree and disagree. Games that are released and then closed do not spark the posts you see here. Because players know that complaining or commenting on change is useless as the game is closed. Example, I really wanted the developers to alter the difficulty on left 4 dead 2. The campaigns on hard were unbeatable in my opinion. Did I comment on there board or write a letter, no. Because I knew that the game was not going to be altered regardless. Now I went on to beat all campaigns on hard but my point is Destiny is a open ended game. They have nurfed the difficulty on many things already. The developers have proven that they at least to some extent will listen and will consider what people are saying. This fact is what drives people to comment and complain, if not to change this game then to influence Destiny 2. I'm honestly not impressed with Destiny but I can clearly see the game fell way short of its true potential. Now my complaint would stop there, unless there's a chance that voicing that on the board might actually change this game or the next. There is no reason to try and push back or slow the feedback coming at bungie, be it causal or hard core, bungie asked for it and left the game open to change. And yes I doubt bungie cares about one or two people quitting. But one thing I've learned is your situation is usually not unique. If a game turns you off odds are your not the first, or second. I can assure you, bungie is interested in why one person quit, because it's never just one person.

  • I agree with your, but you did miss an important point. Many players, myself included, have built a nice group of people to play with. maybe even formed a clan, a whatsapp group that spans across nations. Many people like this new friends and communities a lot and feel that if Destiny fails, they will lose that. Thats why they fight for a better and longer lasting game. Humans like the status quo, so its better to stay here than move on, specially a whole group. That said, In my case, my friends and I are already looking for other games to move to (the Division being the forerunner)

Rauko, I do not believe that online "friendships" can replace real life friendships, which have several additional dimensions of communication and interaction with each other. Reading your post makes me ask whether you lack real life relationships (not saying you do, but the question arises). That aside, there is a ton of online multiplayer games you can play with your friends. When I play Destiny, I either solo or raid, and I am always playing in random teams, and I am fine with that. For me, the purpose of a game like Destiny definitely is not to find friends or not feeling lonely. I just want to be distracted a bit, see and hear nice explosions and destroy some virtual stuff. :D

How are you chastising name calling there and yet posting all this garbage here?

Nice post. I am one of those more casual players you are talking about. (Should I really consider 600 hours of playtime over a year and a half "casual" compared to Lost Sols 750? Probably not)

  • You should ask yourself why you care that players who care enough to post on the forums trying to better the game bothers you. Also, all you need to do to sense what the general non-forum participating portion of the community are feeling about the state of the game is look at queue times and the absence of anyone on friends lists playing.

My queue times are fine and I can't see how you could logically claim that it or what's going on in your friends list is remotely adequate as evidence of what the non-forum-participating players think. But I'm just butting in to the little spat you two are having so I'll see myself out.

You should ask yourself why you cannot handle my post, which was made in good spirit and kindness. I have an answer you may not like: You cannot take being criticized and having your motives questioned. You should also ask yourself why you believe that dropping Destiny player numbers entitle you to claim players leaving Destiny would quit because they feel about the game the way you do. Destiny is getting old, and like with every other game, no matter how good it was or is, people will move on to new experiences that thrill them again. That's all. Grow up and get a life. P.S.: To answer your question: As written before, I have some spare time at hand I do not currently wish to kill somewhere else than here. You should work on your memory and attention time span. I know you had read that other post - you had replied to it.

  • you are so full of shit that it hurts. good spirit and kindness? give me a break. if you are so happy with your rose-tinted goggles then why do you bother to come here and defend this stinkpile of a game to those of us who know better? you are a sad pathetic troll.

  • Oh, Lost Sols has summoned his minions to defend him ... Where did I defend this game? You obviously didn't even bother to read what I wrote. You are too dumb to shit. It's amazing how few braincells people need to walk around and crap in a forum. Just put your head back in your ass where you just pulled it out from. It's dark and warm and smells familiar to you there. You will find it very comforting.

First of all doesn't your post "bother" me. I bothered enough to try and explain to you where you might be on the wrong track and how you could change it. I hadn't expected that to be met with so much appreciation from your side. Now you are basically trying to deny me the right to having my own opinion and replying to you. (Use your brain before trying to deny that.) If I was in your position, then I would indeed be sitting in a glass house, but I am not. See my above post. I am starting to understand why there are people who do not like you, and apparently quite a bunch of these people. I could say a lot more, but I am not gonna waste more time on you. You're a sad case of "Beratungsresistenz", as we say where I live. Well, it's your life (if you want to call it a life).

Oh, your tone was deteriorating fast. That much about hypocrisy. We call people like you idiots. Won't wish you a nice day, since you obviously won't have one until your wet Destiny dreams are being fulfilled (in other words: never). LOL at you. You are comedy gold. Nothing is more funny than real people f'n up royally.
