Thorn haters
So I've been reading the forums and this is my first post, but I've been seeing a lot of posts about how "cheap" thorn is. I myself don't have a thorn, but if I get killed by it, what can I do, well just don't get shot, come up with a better strategy to overcome the thorn user. Saying you hate thorn because of its burn would be like the archon priest hating guardians for using Gally on him because it's was so powerful due to its wolf pack rounds. Guardians used it because it was effective, did you see the archon priest complaining, no. That's because he's not capable of Bitching, but if he was he would be. And even if he was able to complain about the gally, would guardians stop using it on him, no. So stop your whining in crucible and kill that thorn using maggot. #bringbackgally #bringbackthorn

109 RepliesEvery thorn user I see I report. I make sure to kill them, tea bag them until kingdom come and then report their dumbasses for using a pathetic excuse of a gun like that. My thorns still in my vault since dark below came out. I just got a Last Word today to be a super asshole to anyone who uses Thorn. I will report anyone who uses that, I will tea bag and dance all over your whole team, if they give me shit, I am going to say, blame that thorn piece of dog shit on their team. I don't give a damn what anyone says, I have reported the last 4 thorn clowns, I made sure to tea bag and dance all over their garbage characters corpse.

I ran into thorn the other day. He shot me then I hid until my health recovered and sniped him in the head. Problem solved. Thorn users.....thorn away!

I just don't like it due to you not even having to aim because you just need tree body shots to kill someone. But then I try it myself and realize how the hit detection and stability are absolute garbage and realize that it's fine.

You shouldn't have to change your entire strategy because of 1 gun. The thorn is just a three tap to the body, making aiming for the head pointless. I see more people go for body shots with thorn than I do last word.

4 RepliesI used Thorn recently in a crucible match... I beat everybody. I only got killed by a sniper, a fusion rifle, or a TLW.... that one was only one time. I destroyed that crucible match. I do not care if it was classic 6v6, that brings no excuse for bad players. I have to admit, it was difficult getting kills with Thorn at first... but then. Thorn is the most corrupted weapon in the game. It spreads a plague to almost everyone that uses it. It feels wrong but the amount of death it brings to your enemies is so satisfying. This weapon will continue to be used. And only a select few can withstand the thorn prick on your finger. You can pick up a rose, but watch out for the thorns.

Thorns a problem but it's the user that makes it good. Last night I won a rumble match with no land and a sniper only(equipment plus super as well) but mainly the guns. I was running circles around thorns and tlw.

But when you have to deal with the three exotic hand cannons in crucible everyday for 9 months straight without a weapon rebalancing patch it gets a little obnoxious. Thorn, Last Word, and Hawkmoon dominated everything in the crucible from mid Dark Below to Taken King. It was unbearable. I, personally, just want Thorn nerfed into the ground because of how annoying it is. I just don't want it to make a resurgence back into the crucible since everything was using it for 9 months straight.

Edited by infernape8765: 1/12/2016 12:04:45 PMIt's pretty balanced now but back in year 1 it could two shot headshot and 3 shot body shot it also had a really high fire rate,which resulted in more than half of the pvp community using it.They didn't balance it until 9 months later but by then everyone who used the thorn were considered cheats and the magority disliked it.No one wants it to return.It truly was a weapon of sorrow. Either way I never cared because I always had the last word.

My problem with the Thorn is that it can keep you out of the fight for up to 10 - 20 seconds from a single bullet, waiting for shields to build back up.

That being said I may, and have before this outbreak because it's been this way since 2.0......, dust it off for a laugh. But personally I think that just shows it's OP. "Oh yea.... let's go terrorize people without effort, that'll be funny."
