"Then let me help." Tara steps in and puts her hands on Shepard's leg, after a moment it is mended.

She materializes one and hands it to him. "Don't do something stupid."

"Oh but that's precisely what I'll do... Can you make me a shield?"

"Yep." She materializes an energy shield and gives it to him.
