Anthony walks over, med-kit open as he leans down.
"I have absolutely no idea who you are, but I know when someone's going into labor. I'd rather see babies be healthy and delivered right. How long have you been having contractions?"
English
-
"An hour."
-
"Well, that means your baby will be here any second." He takes a scalpel, caliper, and a cauterizer out of his bag. "You're gonna need to push."
-
Layla pushes as much as possible, and the top of the babies head begins to protrude from her.
-
"Just a little more, then I'll be able to help. Push!"
-
The babies head slowly comes out.
-
"Good. Keep pushing." He puts his gloved hands on the baby's head, guiding the direction.
-
The rest of the body comes out easier as Layla pushes incredibly hard. She falls out of her into Anthony's hands.
-
"Good. You did great. I'll handle the rest." He presses the calipers down on the umbilical cord, and cuts it with the scalpel. He immediately cauterizes the wound, and checks the baby's gender.
-
The baby is female.
-
"It's a girl!" He severs the rest of the umbilical cord, and cauterizes it.
-
Tears roll down Layla's eyes as she takes the baby and showers it in maternal affection.
-
Anthony takes a few steps back, and smiles behind his helmet. "Best part. Right there. Seeing the joy."
-
"Thank you... I never caught your name?"
-
"Anthony. What's yours?"
-
"Layla."
-
"It was nice to meet you, Layla."
